Soccer-tennis is a dynamic and exciting soccer drill, but it will never realize its full global potential as an emerging competitive sport unless it has a clear set of rules and a governing body to oversee it.
International soccer champion and coach Thomas Dooley, a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame, has assembled a team of subject matter experts who share his passion for the "Beautiful Game" to improve the rules he developed in 1996 in collaboration with the American Soccer Tennis Organization™ (ASTO) for the sport of Soccer-Tennis.
According to Thomas Dooley, former Captain of the U.S. Men's National Team (USMNT) and the Columbus Crew, the need for rules and a governing body in soccer-tennis is crucial to its success and growth as a sport.
Dooley would know as he has dedicated his life to sports and developing future leaders on and off the pitch.. As a player, he took part in two world championships with the USMNT, of which he was also captain, and in Germany, he won a Bundesliga, a League Cup, a Super Cup, and a UEFA Cup. After being assistant to German soccer legend Jürgen Klinsmann with The Stars and Stripes, Dooley led the Philippine National Team to qualify for the Asian Cup 2019.
With his vision and the expertise of his team, Dooley is determined to bring soccer tennis to the forefront and to ensure that it is played fairly and competitively on a global level. Whether used as a fun and casual game, a training drill, or a competitive sport, soccer-tennis has the potential to bring people together and offer endless opportunities for growth and development.
